Zafiri 2 Studios and Apartments is located 50 metres from the sandy beach of Paleochora, just below the old Venetian fortress.
We offer 7 studios (suitable for 2 to 3 persons) and 4 apartments (for up to 4 persons) and a big apartment with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a seperate living room (suitable for up to 5 persons). All of them have kitchenettes with fridges and cookers, air-conditioning and TV.
Some of the studios and apartments have sea / garden view, others look out towards the fortezza at the back of the building. All are extremely quiet as we are located in a small back street with no traffic.
A few of our studios and apartments have wheelchair access.
Zafiri 2 also shares a large mature garden with its neighbour Zafiri.
The small town of Paleochora in the south-west corner of Crete is a popular holiday destination for independent holiday makers. The small town of around 2000 inhabitants is located on a peninsula which juts out into the Libyan Sea. It has a long sandy beach on one side, a pebble beach on the other as well as several other good beaches a little further out of town.
Paleochora offers all the amenities of a good holiday resort (plenty of cafés, good restaurants, hotels and rooms of most categories, shops, some bars and even a disco a little out of town) but retains the charm of a Cretan village. Because Paleochora is a working village (essentially agriculture) and maybe also because it is a little far from the North coast of Crete, main roads and airports, it has managed to escape becoming a mass-tourism destination and caters almost exclusively for people looking for an individual holiday.
The village is also much loved by families with children, especially as it closes its main roads in the evening making it a very safe place to leave kids running around having fun.
